An Update from Pastor Rhode on March 30, 2020
Dear Saints of Faith Lutheran Church,
This will likely be my final update until we are on the other side of Holy Week. In the days to come, if you have any spiritual or physical needs please let me know. You are not alone. Together we are the body of Christ and we care for one another! We have some extra household supplies here at church, and many of our members have volunteered to help. Let me know!
I also want you to know that I continue to pray for you, especially that you are able to receive our Lord’s life-giving, soul-healing Word via our online Services. We are always in desperate need of our loving Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit, and at times like these we should feel this need even more.
In Holy Week, we see that our Father gives the most priceless of all gifts to us. Ask any parent and they would gladly die a thousand times for their child. The most precious and valuable gift our Father could give is His own beloved Son. He gives His Son to come into our flesh, He gives His Son to suffer in our place – scourge, and rod, and nail, and thorns. He gives His Son to be lifted up on the cross so that all men might be drawn to Him, so that we too might become sons of God. It is just as Martin Luther teaches us to sing:
God said to His beloved Son: ‘It’s time to have compassion. Then go, bright jewel of My crown, And bring to all salvation. From sin and sorrow set them free; Slay bitter death for them that they May live with You forever.’ (LSB #556, verse 5)
As you worship online with us this Holy Week, may God fill you with the awesome depths of His love. Romans 8:30 says, “He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not with Him graciously give us all things?” We need only be patient, keep the faith, and wait on the Lord. He is faithful. He does not lie. In Christ, He does not count our sins against us. In Christ, we are His – now and forever.
Receive God’s faith-sustaining Word with us online! Our upcoming streaming schedule is as follows:

We will give you a single-use printed copy of the Service so you do not need to touch the hymnals, and we will continue to have hand-sanitizer for you to use before and after the Service.
If you are sick or around someone who is sick, you must not come. If Pastor Rhode gets sick, Services may be abruptly cancelled. Please email Pastor Rhode to reserve your spot.

May God bless you this coming Holy Week as you meditate upon the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. His death has made atonement for all our sins. His resurrection shows that we too shall rise from the dead. These are the foundations of our faith, the foundations of our lives! “Neither death nor life … nor things present nor things to come … nor anything else in all creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38
In Christ,
Pastor Rhode
